If you're using ProLaw, optimizing your search grid can help streamline your workflow and make key data easier to find. Whether you’re managing columns, sorting results, or applying filters, customizing your search grid can save time and provide clarity when navigating your data. Follow this step-by-step guide to get the most out of your ProLaw search grid.
Customizing the columns in your search grid ensures that you only see the information relevant to you.
Open the Column Selection Tool
Click the button at the top left of the first column (it looks like horizontal lines).
Select or Deselect Columns
Check the boxes for the columns you want to see and uncheck the ones you don’t need.
Rearrange Columns
Click and drag a column heading to your desired location. Drop the heading in place to rearrange the order.
Sorting allows you to organize your data in either ascending or descending order for better clarity.
Click on the Column Header
Click once on the column header to sort the data in ascending order.
Reverse the Sort Direction
Click the header again to switch to descending order.
Grouping is a powerful feature in ProLaw that helps categorize data based on common characteristics.
Select a Column to Group By
Click on the column heading for the data you’d like to group.
Drag the Heading to the Grouping Bar
Drag the column heading to the light blue bar just above the grid. Drop it in the bar to group your data based on that column.
Expand or Collapse Groups
Click the plus (+) sign to the left of a group to expand the list.
Remove Grouping
Drag the column heading from the grouping bar back to the grid to remove the grouping.
Filtering helps you focus on specific data by narrowing down what is displayed.
Hover Over the Column Heading
Move your mouse over the column heading until you see a dropdown arrow.
Open the Filter Menu
Click the dropdown arrow.
Choose a Filter Value
Select the value you want to filter by to narrow the results to that specific parameter.
Note: Sometimes filters may not be immediately visible. If you suspect a filter is applied, hover over the column headings to reveal any existing filters.
Tip: A common reason users cannot find data in ProLaw is due to active filters in a column. Before contacting the Help Desk, double-check for applied filters.
Customizing your ProLaw search grid can significantly enhance your efficiency and effectiveness. By tailoring the grid to display, sort, and filter only the data you need, you’ll create a user experience that feels personal and optimized.
