If you’ve found yourself frustrated with ProLaw displaying document numbers instead of names when attaching files to emails, don’t worry! There’s a straightforward way to change this so that document names appear instead. Follow this guide to update your settings and make your workflow more efficient.
Document names provide essential context that document numbers don’t. This change makes it easier to understand which file you're attaching or receiving, saving time and reducing the risk of errors.
1. Navigate to the Events Module
Open ProLaw and go to the Events module, aka Events Off the Dashboard.
2. Access the Preferences Setting
Click on Tools in the top menu.
Select Preferences from the dropdown menu. A new window will open.
3. Adjust the Display Option
Find the Options tab in the Preferences window. (If it’s not visible, extend the window to the right until it appears.)
From the dropdown menu, select Event Notes (First Line).
4. Save Your Changes
Click the green checkmark to save your updated preferences.
5. That’s It!
From now on, document attachments in your email will display the document name instead of the document number.
By making this quick adjustment, you can streamline your email process and boost your productivity. Happy file sharing!
